Plot

The Mystery Dungeon spin-offs games for the Dragon Quest series are considered as canon to the mainline series. As such, the events of Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon happen after the events of Dragon Quest Ⅳ: Chapters of the Chosen. The events of Template:GameTitle occur half a year after the ending of this game.

Quests

Although there are no chapters present in the game, the plot is organized into eleven stages during which the overworld area is expanded. The initial stage places the player in The Castle with the goal of completing the Trial Dungeon, the tutorial dungeon of the game. Afterward, progress is tied to Shop expansions. The player can skip directly to Shop (Ninth Stage) by completing the Mysterious Dungeon before doing anything else that would expand the shop.

First	Obtain 500 Gold.
Second	Obtain 1,000 Gold.
Third	Obtain 3,000 Gold.
Fourth	Obtain 5,000 Gold.
Fifth	Obtain 10,000 Gold.
Sixth	Obtain 20,000 Gold.
Seventh	Obtain 50,000 Gold.
Eighth	Obtain the Box of Happiness from the Mysterious Dungeon.
Ninth	Obtain the Mystery Box from the Bonus Dungeon.
Ninth and Tenth	Obtain the Victory Scroll (floor 50 of the Bonus Dungeon)
Any stage after The Castle	Obtain the Ultimate Scroll (floor 99 of the Mysterious Dungeon or floor 99 of the Bonus Dungeon)
