The Evil Soldier (Japanese: 鬼面武者) Monster Family is a recurring group of four monsters in the Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer series. It made its debut in Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer in 1995, making it one of the Original Monster Families.
The Evil Soldier Family consists of:
- Evil Soldier (Japanese: 鬼面武者, Kimen Musha)
- Evil Veteran (Japanese: はんにゃ武者, Hannya Musha)
- Evil General (Japanese: 将軍, Shōgun)
- Evil Shogun (Japanese: 大将軍, Daishōgun)
The Evil Soldier Family has made a cameo appearance in the Danganronpa series in 2021, under the name Monokuma Samurai.
Biography
Characteristics
When defeated, a memebr of the Dead Soldier Family will spawn in their place after a few turns have past, corresponding to the level of the defeated Evil Soldier, with exceptions for the games where the Dead Soldier was the only monster in the family at the time. They will then seek out, posess, and level up another monster.
Physical Appearance
Evil Soldiers take the appearance of samurai (Japanese: 侍) equipped with traditional armor including a helmet, kabuto (Japanese: 冑) with white side padding, fukigaeshi (Japanese: 吹返), shoulder spaulders, sode (Japanese: 袖). On its torso it wears a plated cuirass, do (Japanese: 胴) which connects to thigh plates, haidate (Japanese: 佩楯), with plain rounded boots.
