This Weather page is about the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS release. For the Nintendo Switch release, see Rescue Team DX:Weather.
For the lore page, see Pkmn:Weather.
The Weather (Japanese: 天気) is a game mechanic in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team. There are many different types of weather effects that can happen from floor to floor in each Dungeons. The weather can be altered through Moves, Abilities, or Wonder Orbs.
Weather Effects
- Clear: Default weather condition. As long as there is a Pokémon on the floor whose special ability is Cloud Nine or Air Lock, the weather is always clear and cannot be changed.
- Cloudy: Damage coming from non-Normal-type moves is decreased.
- Hail: Triggered by the move Hail or a Hail Orb. Pokémon who are not Ice-type take 5 HP damage every 10 turns. Castform turns into an Ice-type Pokémon.
- Fog: Electric-type moves are weakened significantly. Castform turns into a Water-type Pokémon.
- Rain: Triggered by the Rain Dance, Drizzle (special ability), or a Rainy Orb. It strengthens Water-type moves and weakens Fire-type moves.
- Sandstorm: Triggered by the move Sandstorm, Sand Stream (special ability), or a Sandy Orb. Pokémon who are not Rock-type, Steel-type, or Ground-type take 5 HP damage every 10 Turns.
- Snow: The Movement Speed of Ice-type Pokémon is increased by one. Castform turns into an Ice-type Pokémon.
- Sunny: Triggered by the move Sunny Day, Drought (special ability), or a Sunny Orb. It strengthens Fire-type moves and weakens Water-type moves.
