The Prehistoric Ruins (Japanese: 古代遺跡, Ancient Ruins), found on the Air Continent, are the underwater remains of an ancient civilazation in the Pokémon World in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.

The Prehistoric Ruins are located in the Grand Sea and are said to be at the deepest part of the ocean. They are accessed by going through the Submerged Cave, which is on the same island as the Western Cave. The ruins have a special room where Pokémon who are turned to stone are sent to the bottom of the Voidlands.

Story

Past

The Prehistoric Ruins used to be part of a larger continent that somehow fell underwater.

Present

The Expedition Society decides to explore the Prehistoric Ruins to learn more about Pokémon being turned to stone after Mawile reads about it on a stone tablet. Once there, they learn that the process of being turned to stone can be reversed by using Luminous Water, and they meet a group of Beheeyem, who introduce themselves as the guardians of the ruins. The claim is dubious, as they are being controlled by Dark Matter, and proceed to turn them into stone.
