Extra Segment Release
This section is a stub. You can help Mystery Dungeon Franchise Wiki by expanding it. |
In their original uploads, both parts were missing a segment at the end (after the card that shows game information). They were later included in translated YouTube uploads. Japanese DVD includes the full version (Japanese: 完全版) of part 2, but not part 1. Was the full Japanese version of part 1 ever released? Maybe aired on TV.
Soundtrack
Renditions of "Main Theme", "Main Menu", "Stirrings of Hope" and "Magnagate" based on the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity Soundtrack can be heard during the short.

Version Differences
- In the dubs all Pokémon names are changed to their Western counterparts.
- The dubs play a different segment of the rendition of Stirrings of Hope used by the short. The track starts playing at the same time in all versions of the short, however in the dubs, the track starts 20 seconds earlier than the original Japanese version, meaning the calm part of the track is never reached, unlike the Japanese version, where it's used when Pikachu asks Oshawott to help with Pokémon Paradise.
- In the original, when Oshawott wakes up, Pikachu says "よかった!" ("Thank goodness!"). In the dubs she points out that he is awake.
- In all European versions, as well as the American re-upload with the Super Mystery Dungeon border, the animation is slowed down and zoomed in when Pikachu and Oshawott are running to the Request Gate during the extra segment.
- All known Japanese releases lack the extra segment at the end of Part 1.

Trivia
- In the Japanese version, Pikachu's lines during her monologue are similar or identical to the partner's in-game dialogue right after buying the land from Quagsire and while asking Emolga and Dunsparce to help with Pokémon Paradise after completing Desolate Canyon for the first time.
- The Japanese version of the extra segment of Part 1 can't be found online or in the DVD, seemingly having never been published despite all the voice actors being known.
- Gothitelle is a character exclusive to these animated shorts and does not appear in the original game. Gothitelle's role is unknown.
- Gothitelle has Japanese voice acting credits, but, as far as we know, only makes background noises that may be drawn out by other characters in the extra segment of part 1, which is currently not available in Japanese.
- The design of the cloth on the Request Counter is similar to the one seen in the released game, with the biggest difference being the white circles, which are blue on the inside in the short. The arrow behind the counter uses an older design seen in Japanese prerelease screenshots, where the arrow was straight instead of angled and the three blue lines weren't present yet. The position of the notes on the Request Board also seems to be based on the older game design.
