Starting an Adventure
An Adventure begins by entering a dungeon. Some floors will have Detours only if the Adventure began from a Job.
When entering a dungeon, the party can have a maximum of four Pokémon. Some dungeons and jobs have additional restrictions on the Pokémon that may enter the dungeon.
Concluding an Adventure
An Adventure ends in either success or failure. An Adventure ends in failure if the current leader faints, if the wind blows the party out of the dungeon, or if the player selects "Give Up" in the "Others" menu. An Adventure can also result in failure if the partner is defeated before the credits.
Any Adventure can be succeeded by using an Escape Orb, however that may not get the desired result, as it doesn't progress the story or complete the current Job, but simply prevents the player from losing any items or money. If the Adventure began by entering the dungeon normally (either through the story or from the Crossroads), the player can succeed by reaching the end of the dungeon. If it began by choosing a Job at the Request Counter, the player can succeed by completing the job. As soon as it is completed, players are asked if they want to leave the dungeon immediately, or explore the rest of the floor until they reach the stairs, which won't lead to the next floor, but will only allow to successfully escape the dungeon.
When an Adventure ends, the Adventure Results screen appears, describing why the Adventure ended and showing the stats of the current leader as well as the currently held item.
Fainting or selecting "Give Up" after completing a mission results in a successful Adventure Results screen, as well as a successful job over all, however items can still be lost.
Consequences of failing an Adventure
When failing an Adventure, some items may be lost, depending on the amount of currently carried items. If the dungeon doesn't allow bringing in any items, or if the Adventure is failed after stealing from Kecleon before leaving that floor, all items and Poké will be lost.
Amount of carried items | Lost amount |
---|---|
48 | 5 |
Between 47 and 33 | 4 |
Between 32 and 18 | 3 |
Between 17 and 9 | 2 |
Between 8 and 6 | 1 |
5 or less | None |
Adventure Results
Adventure Results (Japanese: ???) is a screen shown to the player when an Adventure is concluded, showing the stats of the current leader, the held item, the dungeon location, and the reason the Adventure ended.
The reason can be either positive (completing the dungeon successfully) or negative (defeat, using the Give Up menu option). Depending on whether the reason is positive or negative, a different jingle is played.
Many of the reasons have unique messages explaining what exactly ended the Adventure.

Trivia
- Unlike other games, escaping a dungeon with an Escape Orb causes the Adventure Results screen to play the failure jingle instead of the success jingle. This appears to be one of several Development Oversights.
- The Gust of Wind Adventure Results screen is missing a period after the location name at the end of the first sentence.
