Controls	Action
A	Attack.
A + B	Pass turns.
L+A/B/X/Y	Use a move.
L+R	Throw assigned item.
D-Pad/Circle Pad	Walk in the selected direction.
B + D-Pad/Circle Pad	Run in the selected direction.
X	Open general menu. Press again to open moves menu. Press again to select a Pokémon. Press again to select the first listed move. Press again to use the move.
Y	Change the faced target Pokémon.
Y + B	Open the message log.
Y + D-Pad	Change the faced direction.
Tap B	Open items menu.
R + D-Pad/Circle Pad	Move diagonally.
Start/Select	Change what is shown on the bottom screen.
