Ground debug is an unused menu in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. It is the debug menu used in "ground" areas (meaning outside of dungeons) and it leads to several smaller sub-menus. It can be accessed in the released game through hacking.
Function: OpenGroundDebugMenu()
Debug camera
Inaccessible in the released game. Selecting it does nothing.
Pokémon Storage
This menu has three features: adding a Pokémon to the team at level 1 (chosen from a list with all species entries, including unused and special ones), see the list of all Pokémon in the team, and fill the team with the maximum amount of Pokémon that can be recruited.
Items and Money
"Bag" leads to submenus where categories of items can be chosen to fill the bell with, along with an option to empty the bag.
"Bag 2" shows a list of items, adding one at a time. Many unused items are available, but not all.
"Inventory" includes "Inventory max", which fills the Deposit Box with 999 of most items, an option to remove everything from the Deposit Box, and one to simply access the Deposit Box.
"Materials" lets you add up to 999 of any Material (including unused ones) directly to the Materials menu rather than the bag.
"Money", "Bank" and "Gold Bars" let you edit those values directly.
Change Hero/Partner
Lets you set the hero and partner to Tepig, Snivy, Oshawott, Pikachu or Axew. When done, a notice appears on the top screen instructing to reenter the area to see the changes.
Change Party
A simple party editing menu. Pokémon can be removed from the party, be made the leader, and recruited Pokémon can be added to the party. "Add Basic Set" adds a Golurk, a Braviary and a Conkeldurr.
Change Parameters
This menu is intended to change the current stats of each move in the game, but the changes aren't saved.
Position Capture
Unknown purpose. Selecting "Capture" displays a top screen notice that says "Capture failed...".
For Scriptwriters
The menu itself uses Japanese characters, however an English textbox explains what each option does after it's selected.
First page:
First option resets all story events, so the next time an area is loaded the first cutscene plays.
Second option skips to the next day.
Third option sets Companion Mode (referred to as "Paradise mode" in this instance) to "not experienced", meaning you get the tutorial the next time it's entered. Fourth option sets it to "experienced".
Fifth and sixth are "Check Paradise mode staging" and "Skip Paradise mode staging". Unknown.
Seventh and eighth are "Lot sign tutorial check enabled" and "Skip lot sign tutorials". Unknown.
Ninth and tenth are "Message counter has been initialized" and "Set message counter to final stage". Unknown.
Second page:
First and second are "Town map movement flags initialized" and "Town map movement flags all enabled". Unknown.
Third is a test menu to enter Treasure Trove. Leads to another menu after confirming, but this menu can't be seen because the screen goes black, although it can be used.
Fourth and fifth seemingly do nothing.
Sixth: "Separate job request clear event flag on".
Seventh and eighth are "Flags initialized for points that broadcast Advice Bulletins" and "Skip points with Advice Bulletin flags".
Ninth: "Day count will be reset".
Tenth: "An unknown number of days have passed" or "One day has passed" or "Day has not moved forward". Unknown purpose.
Third page:
First: A menu to manage flags related to the Building Music Paradise quest.
Second option stops the currently playing music.
Third: Presumably related to Victini, but nothing happens when selecting it.
Fourth: Exit this sub-menu.
Other
In the European version, this submenu has only two options: Skip to the next in-game day or reset the V-Wavecast. The latter doesn't seem to work.
Paradise Debug
Selecting "All Paradise" does the following: makes you reach maximum rank, turn all lands to Pleasant Plains, gives Materials and max held money. Other options allow settig all lands to a specified type (including Wastelands), remove all existing facilities, fll all empty facilities with a specified type of facility, change the color of all facilities, another to increase their levels, and options to change the current rank and points.
Shop Test
This menu gives access to shops, services, Facilities, the multiplayer menu, main character and partner selection screens, team name menu, the dungeon entrance menu and some menus not seen in the regular game. Some don't work or crash the game. Treasure Shop is among those.
"Sample Shops" runs the function OpenExampleShopMenu(), which displays multiple texboxes with what seem to be yes/no answers. The partner has dialogue at some point. Most of the text uses Japanese characters that display as squares in the European version, so it needs to be tried in the Japanese version.
It also lets you increase your Paradise Rank and get the associated rewards. Nothing happens when selecting it at max rank.
This menu and its sub-menus are likely to crash.
Shop Debug
Unknown purpose.
Multiplay Debug
Doesn't exist in the European version of the menu.
Sound Test
Inaccessible.
Request Debug
A menu to make and manage Jobs. "Update job board" changes the jobs currently available in the bulletin boards.
"Edit my list" allows to create, edit and delete missions from your current job list, as well as the AR list (Magnagates).
Before creating a job, the "job type" must be selected, and it can't be changed. This is a number that goes from 1 to 170, and it limits some characterstics of the created job: which Pokémon can be client or target (if there are any), the dungeon, job restrictions and the messages that can be used. Pressing A after choosing the job type allows creating a job freely. You can also change the job kind (Single, Multi or AR), the job seed value, Mysteriosity (from 0 to 5), goal floor and start floor. The last value is used by AR dungeons, other jobs still start from floor 1 even if this is set. If the selected floors are invalid, they are displayed in a darker color. It is not possible to choose the job's reward manually. They are chosen automatically when the job is created, likely by using the seed.
After specifying a job type it is also possible to select "Create (specified type)" to make add a randomly generated job of that type to the list. Selecting "Delete (specified type)" deletes all the jobs of that type, and selecting "Delete all" removes all jobs.
It is possible to see the data of already existing jobs in your lists and create new jobs by editing them.
StreetPass Debug
System settings
Passerby Post debug
Used to edit Passerby Post data. Exiting this menu from the ground debug menu crashes the game, however it can also be used without issues by running the OpenStrangePost_Debug() function directly.
Menu Script Reload
Displays a notice on the top screen. Unknown purpose.
Game Setting Script Reload
Displays a notice on the top screen. Unknown purpose.
Enter Dungeon
This menu shows a list of all dungeons, including unused ones, allowing them to be entered. At the end of the list there is an option to unlock all dungeons that can be unlocked, meaning that they appear in the Crossroads dungeon selection menu. Pressing Y before entering a dungeon lets you change the Mysteriosity level for that dungeon. Next to the name of each dungeon it says "open" (meaning it can be accessed from the Crossroads), "close!" (for unused dungeons and some story-only dungeons), and "invi" (for some story only dungeons and dungeons accessed through special methods, including Magnagates, Diggers' Den and Mysteriosity warps).
