Recruiting (Japanese: ???) in Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity. Enemy Pokémon encountered in dungeons may join the player's team either by getting defeated or when reacting to a Gift item. Defeating a Pokémon while holding a Friend Bow or using False Swipe increases the recruitment chance.

Recruitment Methods

Defeating a Pokémon

Recruitment Rate is the rate of the chance of a Pokémon to be recruited. It can be increased in various ways.

Items

If the leader holds a Friend Bow when defeating the Pokémon, the chance to recruit the Pokémon increases by 10%.

Levels

The level of the leader when defeating the Pokémon can increase the recruitment rate. If it's between 41 and 70, it increases by 1%, and if it's between 71 and 100, it increases by 3%.

False Swipe

Defeating the Pokémon by using the move False Swipe increases the recruitment rate by [Data needed].

Using Gifts

Gifts are items to give to Pokémon instead of defeating them. They can be created at the Gift Shop in Post Town.
