Cross-Mixing (Japanese: 異種合成) is an item Synthesis mechanic in Nintendo Switch/Steam Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island.

Cross-Mixing is performed by throwing the items at a Mixer Family Monster and then defeating it or making it trip to retrieve the item. Unlike the Synthesis Pot, certain Grasses, Staves, and Scrolls can apply Runes to Weapons and Shields that wouldn't otherwise be possible to obtain.

Capacity

Level 1: A Mixer can take up to 2 items.
Level 2: A Mixermon can take up to [Research required] items.
Level 3: A Mixergon can take 4 items.
Level 4: A Mixerdon can take up to [Research required] items.
