Strength (Japanese: ???) is a Stat in Template:GameTitle. It contributes to the attack calculation of Shiren, along with Shiren's Level and Weapon Strength, allowing him to deal more damage to monsters.
Strength is reset to 8/8 at the start of the adventure.
Decreasing Strength
Poison herbs reduce Strength by 1 when eaten, or thrown onto Shiren by Ghost Radish monsters. Poison Dart Traps will reduce Strength by 1 when triggered. Egg Thing Noodles, Gaze Yakisoba or Roast Walrus from The Cliffs will reduce Strength by 2. Rotten Riceballs have a chance of reducing Strength by 3, amongst 4 other possible effects. Kechi the Masseur may press the wrong pressure points when giving a massage, either before or after becoming a party member, which reduces your Strength. Strength loss is prevented by Antidote Armband. Special Riceballs have a chance of granting the Poison Free Status for the duration of the floor, amongst 6 other possible effects, which prevents Strength loss to poisons. The minimum value for Strength is 1.
Increasing Strength
Strength can be restored by Antidote Herbs, which restore Strength to its maximum. Strength Herbs will restore Strength by 1. If Strength is 1, a Scroll of Need will restore it to its maximum. Special Riceballs have a chance of restoring strength by 1. Chiropractic Jars restore Strength to its maximum. Reviving from Herb of Revival, Evil Soldier Monster Meat, or being rescued fully restores Strength, as does possession using Dead Soldier Monster Meat. Inns will restore Strength to its maximum at the cost of Gitan. The Cliffs serves dishes that fully restore Strength: Air Devil a la Diabolo, Gather Stew, Chintala Curry, Sauteed Piggy, Dragon Curry, Roasted Mamel Tail and Filet de Minotaur. The blind Girl will restore your Strength by 1 if you throw a Herb of Sight at her, and then talk to her.
Maximum Strength
Decreasing Maximum Strength
Maximum Strength is decreased by 1 when Shiren is targeted by the special attack of Leech Worm monsters. Antidrain Armband prevents this. The minimum value for maximum strength is 1.
Increasing Maximum Strength
Maximum Strength can be increased by 1 when consuming Special Riceballs at maximum Strength, Strength Herbs, or talking to the blind Girl at maximum Strength. The Cliffs serves dishes that increase maximum Strength: Air Devil a la Diabolo, Chintala Curry, Dragon Curry, Roasted Mamel Tail and Filet de Minotaur increase it by 1. Gather Stew increases it by 2. Sauteed Piggy increases it by 5. The maximum value for maximum Strength is 99.
