The Identity Armband (Japanese: 識別の腕輪) is an Armband introduced in the Super Famicom release of Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer.
While wearing this armband, any Item picked up into Template:ShirenPC inventory will be identified. Unidentified Items with obscure yellow names will will change to their actual names in white.
This rare and extremely useful armband is exclusive to the Final Puzzle floors 21 - 99.
The effect of an Identity Armband is included in one "rescue reward" armband: the Merchant Armband.
Tips for use
- Being the only armband at such a high price, players can be sure they've found an Identity Armband in, or using Shops.
- Items held in the inventory can still be unidentified with the Identity Armband equipped. Place them on the floor and pick them up to identify them.
- This armband completely negates the gimmick of the Final Puzzle as there will be no risk of using any unidentified items.
- Temporarily pick up items in Shops to identify them, then replace the item on the floor.
- Only equip this armband when finding unidentified items, and equip another type for dungeon exploration and combat.

Trivia
- Despite giving players this ability, equipping an Identity Armband does not grant Shiren the 'Auto Identify' status, which can only be obtained by chance by eating a Special Riceball.
- At a cost of 30,000 Gitan, the Identity Armband is one of the most expensive unmodified items in Shiren 1, after the Kabra Reborn at 40,000 and matching the base cost of a new Firebrand.
