The Armband of Loss (Japanese: たれ流しの腕輪) is an Armband introduced in the Super Famicom release of Shiren 1.

Wearing this armband will cause Shiren to drop a random unequipped item every 8 - 12 turns. This also includes turns passing while stationary by holding Shiren 1 DS Button A.png and Shiren 1 DS Button B.png. Equipped Weapons, Shields, Arrows, or the equipped Armband of Loss cannot be dropped. Electrified or currently equipped items will not drop from the inventory. Item and undisguised N'Duba Family Monsters can also drop from the inventory. Undisguised N'Duba's will attack Shiren. The effect of this armband also persists in towns, but not while Shiren is a monster, or inflicted with the 'Riceball' status.

Tips for use

  • An Armband of Loss is extremely easy to identify in The Final Puzzle, the only location where they can spawn.
  • As they have no beneficial uses, Armbands of Loss can be sold at a Shop for a decent price of 1,500 Gitan.

Trivia

  • When all squares on the ground Shiren walks over are covered in items, no items can drop from Shiren's inventory.
  • Unlike other Armbands, an Armband of Loss will still function in towns, and cause items to fall to the ground.
  • Electrified Items and cannot fall out of the player's inventory.
  • Items that are disguised N'Duba Family Monsters as well as held N'Duba's can fall out of the player's inventory. The latter of which will come out in front of Shiren and proceed to attack.
