Shiren 6:Resonance

Resonance (Japanese: 共鳴) is a game mehcanic in / Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island. When equipping a weapon and a shield belonging to the same set (for example, a Wooden Sword and a Wooden Shield), additional benefits are present.

Resonances

• Wooden Sword + Wooden Shield

Increases Weapon and Shield strength by 3.

• Bronze Sword + Bronze Shield

Increases Weapon and Shield strength by 3.

• Katana + Iron Shield

Increases Weapon and Shield strength by 3.

• Doutanuki + Wolfshead

Increases Weapon and Shield strength by 3.

• Manji Kabura or Kabura Sutegi + Fuuma Shield or Rasen Fuuma

Increased damage dealt by normal attacks.

• Golden Sword + Golden Shield

Monsters defeated with normal attacks are likely to drop Gitan.

• Axe of the Minotaur + Targe of the Minotaur

Makes Critical Hits occur more often.

• Watersplitter + Spearscale Shield

Increases Anti-Aquatic Rune effects.

• Dragonkiller + Dragon Shield

Increases Anti-Dragon Rune effects.

• Crescent Blade + Blast Shield

Increases Anti-Exploding Rune effects.

• Cyclops Bane + Watchful Shield

Increases Anti-Cyclops Rune effects.

• Whopping Harisen + Zabuton

Attacks may inflict Laughing status on the target.

• Spender's Club + Spender's Shield

Slightly reduces the amount of Gitan consumed by Runes.

• Ferrous Greatsword + Ferrous Kite

Slightly reduces the amount of Fullness consumed by Runes.

• Steak Knife + Steak Plate

Damage will not be taken from Starving.

• Auspicious Kumade + Auspicious Omamori

Trap are less likely to ensnare you.

• Bonito Block + Shield of Sating

Attacks may inflict Onigiri status on the target.

• Yamanba's Cleaver + Yamanba's Potlid

While Resonating, Weapon and Shield become Cursed, further increasing Strength by 4.

• Break-Off Blade + Break-Off Shield

Occasionally prevents deterioration.
