Inconsistent Translations in Wii Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3 - The Sleeping Princess and the Karakuri Mansion encompass inconsistencies with the naming scheme used, such as how Jars are often referred to as Pots. This doesn't cover names changed during localization, such as the Herb of Confusion in Nintendo DS Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer being turned into the Confusion Herb.

Critical-hits

Critical-hits are referred to as "Critical hit" and "Critical strike".

Jars

Shiren 3 seems to use the name "Jars", as was used in Nintendo DS Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. It seems newly translated names often opted for the name "Pot". The unobtainable item Pot of Oil stands out, as one example. Others include the monsters Potmonger and 2 of the monsters in the Cistern Frog Family, the Pot Frog and the Hot Pot Frog.

One particularly bad example of a glaring inconsistency is in the Illusionary World dungeon, which features a boss monster called the Pot King, and requires the player to collect Jar Fragments to reach the boss floor.

Riceballs

The Chef seal states that it may turn foes into Riceballs. When it comes into effect, it displays the message "(Monster) became Onigiri'd!".

Scrolls

The Scroll of Victory follows a different naming scheme from every other scroll in the game. Every other scroll is (Purpose) Scroll, such as Lightning Scroll, Blank Scroll, or Soaked Scroll.

Tea House

The various Tea House locations are spelled as such, however, characters internally are named "Teahouse Owner"s.

Tiles

  • Tiles in dungeons are referred to as "Space" and "Square" interchangeably in weapon descriptions.
  • Special Tiles in dungeons are referred to as "floor tiles" in weapon descriptions, and special tiles in the manual.

Weapons

Weapons descriptions inconsistently refer to them as "weapons" and "swords" interchangeably.
