Gardevoir (Japanese: サーナイト) is a Pokémon that appears as a spirit, and guides the Hero in their dreams, giving them advice in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Team.
Biography
The Legend of Ninetales
A long time ago, a Pokémon Trainer and his partner, Gardevoir entered a sacred dungeon, greedy for the rare Pokémon living in it. They encountered a Ninetales, and the trainer grabbed one of its tails. Ninetales tried to cast a curse on that human, but Gardevoir sacrificed herself and absorbed the curse. Ninetales asked the human if he wanted to save Gardevoir, but he had already fled, leaving Gardevoir alone. Ninetales then said that the human shall turn into a Pokémon one day, and will make the balance of the world upset, bringing many natural disasters.
This Gardevoir is the same as the one in the legend.
Plot
Gardevoir appears early in the game, when the player first has strange dreams, although it is only as a soft, faint voice. As time goes by, the voice becomes clearer every time the player has strange dreams.
The night after the player hears the Legend of Ninetales, they have the dream again. The Pokémon came again and revealed that she is Gardevoir, scaring the player as she knew that they were a human. Remembering that Gardevoir as in the Legend of Ninetales came, the player starts to ask themself if they really are the human in the legend.
The rumor of the player being the selfish human in the legend begins spreading, and the player decides to run away. After leaving the Frosty Forest, Gardevoir appears in front of the player, she tells them that Ninetales lives at the peak of Mt. Freeze, and the truth could be discovered by visiting it.
When returned to the Pokémon Square, the player has another dream. Gardevoir tells them that they had come in order to fulfill a 'certain' role, and when they finished the role, they will return to the Human World. But she also says that it is not the time to know about the role.
Once Groudon has been defeated, they have another dream. Gardevoir tells them that they came to save the world from a falling meteor. The player exclaims that they can't remember saying that they agreed to come to the Pokémon Wolrd but realizes that it's their destiny to save the Pokémon world, although they know that they must leave their beloved partner.
After the player defeats Rayquaza the meteor is destroyed, Gardevoir appears in front of the player. They hadn't followed the other Pokémon in teasing Lombre. Gardevoir tells them that their job as a Pokémon is over, and they will go back to the Human World, then begins to disappear. She doesn't appear again until the events of Gengar's Request comes.
Murky Cave
After Gengar starts to regret leaving Gardevoir alone, he asks the player to escort him onto the peak of Mt. Freeze. At the peak, Ninetales reveals that she is sealed in the depths of Murky Cave, and gives Gengar the 9-Tail Crest, the item used to release Gardevoir.
At the depths, Gardevoir is revived and released from the curse but has no memory of Gengar, her previous partner. When she introduces herself to him, he replies sadly.
The day after Gardevoir is saved, she is found in Pokémon Square. She says that she's thought about it and finally decided to join the player's Team Pokémon. She joins at level 5, making her an Under Leveled Pokémon.

Part of this page's history has been imported from the PMD Rescue Team Wiki. On September 11, 2019, the Gamepedia Shiren the Wanderer Wiki became the Gamepedia Mystery Dungeon Wiki. As part of the unification project between Fandom and Gamepedia, we absorbed the Rescue Team Wiki and its page histories. Some pages were originally deemed unworthy of being imported and were left behind. We've since imported them with the intent to preserve the edits and history of this community and its contributions, as well as to build upon them. In some cases, these pages have been created again by editors of the MDFW, and the Rescue Team page histories were imported into them at a later date.
