Tatsumi Shiren (Japanese: 竜海シレン) is a playable character in Template:GameTitle. Tatsumi Shiren is the fusion of Shiren and Tatsumi, and is controlled by the player in dungeons. Tatsumi Shiren is unlocked by interacting with the Sacred Tree after completing Cavern of Suiryu for the first time, and can be selected as a playable character when entering a dungeon from the Sacred Tree. Tatsumi Shiren was introduced in version 1.2.0.

Movement

Tatsumi Shiren can move over water. Doing so restores HP and rots Onigiri.

Limitations

Tatsumi Shiren cannot equip Weapons, Shields, Bracelets, or use Projectile items.

Attack

Tatsumi Shiren's has a whip attack with a range of two tiles in front.

Abilities

Tatsumi Shiren can use 4 different abilities. They are selected by either holding ZL and then pressing A/B/X/Y, or selecting them manually from "Ability" in the X button menu. Using an ability consumes Fullness.

Raging Tornado	竜巻	B	-20	Knocks every monster in the room back into another room.
Summon Kappa Squad	カッパ隊召喚	X	-40	Summons up to 3 Kappa Squad guardian(s). Relatively weak, they provide support by throwing items. Even Bored Kappa are sharpshooters that never miss.
Rain's Blessing	雨の恵み	Y	-20	Turns the selected item into Grass or Food.

Kappa Squad

The Kappa Squad are a group of 3 friendly Bored Kappa called by Tatsumi Shiren. They can be called by the player by using the Summon Kappa Squad ability. They throw items at enemies and may miss. They disappear when going to the next floor, but can be called by using the ability again.

Trivia

• Much like Kokatsu Shiren, Tatsumi Shiren makes noticeable references to the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series.
  • Tatsumi Shiren's ability system is similar to Pokémon Moves. Fullness takes the role of PP, and item shortcuts are replaced with the abilities, like Pokémon Moves.
