This page is for miscellaneous removed and unused content in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon that doesn't fit the other unused content pages.

Prototype World Map

An unused prototype world map. The Unknown Landmass can be seen in this version of the map. It's labeled with the kanji 仮, which means "provisional". This map is, in a way, more detailed than the one seen in the released game, as certain locations (Altar of Ice, Sky Ruins, Destiny Tower, Triangle Temple, and the Tree of Life) can be seen on the map itself, similar to the world map in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, although with not nearly as many noticable landmarks. The Sand Continent appears to have more snow than in the released game, where only the southern part does. In addition, Fire Island and Island of Storms swapped places in the final version. It seems Fire Island was moved to be closer to the Tree of Life for story reasons.

A small, stretched texture used in the game shows another earlier version of the map. This might be a later version of the map, as Fire Island and Island of Storms are in their final positions. However, there is a lot more green compared to the final map. The Unknown Landmass is also visible.

The earlier position of Fire Island can also be partially seen in the final game during a cutscene alongside the Unknown Landmass.

Unused male partner

Because in the European version of the game the partner is always female, male dialogue in the European version goes unused.

Unused Menu Buttons

In some menus, on the top right corner of the touch screen, a small button may appear. Depending on the menu, the button performs one of the following: change the size of the bigger touch screen buttons (nine dots button, three dots button), display a description (question mark button), or go back to the previous menu (left pointing arrow). In the game's image files however, many more buttons in the same style can be found, as well as a search bar in the same style. Two of the buttons in question seem to involve enabling and disabling some multiplayer functionality.

Unused buttons in the style used for the Main Menu and the game menu (opened by pressing the X button) are also present. One of them is another multiplayer connectivity button. In the previous game, Gates to Infinity, local multiplayer features were accessed from the X button menu. There is also an unused Debug button.

Unused dungeon options and features

The message file with the hash 0x1498 contains the following lines.

"It changes whether or not you'll see far-off teammates when something happens to them." This option was present in previous games.

"Visual effects of moves are skipped while [M:B04] is held down." Present in Gates to Infinity.

"Alliances will be activated automatically." Unused.

"[CS:05]Pokémon you may encounter here. [CR]Pokémon who have joined your team.
[CS:05]Pokémon You May Encounter Here
Pokémon who can appear[R][VO:00:0001][RT]Befriend: [CS:01]Yes
Pokémon who can appear[R][VO:00:0001][RT]Befriend: [CS:01]No"

Gates to Infinity leftover. The list of Pokémon that appear on the current floor can't be seen, and enemy Pokémon that regularly appear in dungeons can't be recruited at all.
