Ground debug is an unused menu in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. It is the debug menu used in "ground" areas (meaning outside of dungeons) and it leads to several smaller sub-menus. It is very similar to the Ground debug menu in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, with many non-working leftover features. It can be accessed in the released game through hacking.
Note: Currently only tested in the European version of the game.
Function: OpenGroundDebugMenu()
Debug camera
Inaccessible in the released game. Selecting it does nothing.
Pokémon Storage
This menu has three features: adding a Pokémon to the team (chosen from a list), see the list of all Pokémon in the team, and fill the team with the maximum amount of Pokémon that can join it.
Items and Money
"Bag" leads to submenus where categories of items can be chosen to fill the bell with, along with an option to empty the bag.
"Bag 2" doesn't do anything but close the sub-menu.
"Inventory" includes "Inventory max", which fills the Deposit Box with 999 of most items, an option to remove everything from the Deposit Box, and one that is intended to access the Deposit Box, but crashes the game instead.
Change Hero/Partner
Lets you set the player character and parter to any of the starters avalable in the selection menu at the start of the game, all of their evolutions, plus Wailord, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Reshiram, Onix or Steelix. When done, a notice appears on the top screen instructing to reenter the area to see the changes.
Change Party
A simple party editing menu. Pokémon can be removed from the party, be made the leader, and recruited Pokémon can be added to the party. "Add Basic Set" adds a Golurk, a Frogadier and a Sigilyph.
Change Parameters
This menu is intended to change the current stats of each move in the game, but the changes aren't saved.
Position Capture
Unknown purpose. Selecting "Capture" displays a top screen notice that says "Capture failed...".
For Scriptwriters
The menu itself uses Japanese characters, however, an English textbox explains what each option does after it's selected.
The first option is supposed to reset all story events, but it doesn't seem to work.
The second option is supposed to skip to the next day, but it doesn't seem to work.
The third option is "Reset date counter". Unknown.
The fourth option says "So many days have passed that we just can't be sure any" (the text cuts off and goes off screen). Unknown.
Fifth and sixth are "Reset message counter" and "Message counter has been set to its final stage". Unknown.
Seventh and eighth are "Reset midway point pro tip flags" and "Skip midway point pro tip flags". Unknown.
The ninth option stops the currently playing music.
The tenth option exits this sub-menu.
Other
This menu uses Japanese characters for many of its options.
"Next day (for debug)" reloads the current area when exiting the menu, presumably skipping to the next day. But the items at town shops don't seem to change.
"V-Wavecast reset" displays a notice saying that it has been reset, but there is no known way to access the V-Wavecast in this game, so it can't be checked.
"Debug Switch" appears to not do anything.
Fourth: an unknown selection.
Fifth: an unknown selection.
Sixth: enabling this display boxes in the environment. Unknown purpose.
Seventh: an unknown selection.
Eighth: a "2" value that can't be changed, and another option that, if selected, zooms in to the middle of the screen and then zooms back.
Ninth: an unknown selection.
The last option is on the second page, and doesn't seem to do anything.
Paradise Debug
Gates to Infinity leftover, doesn't appear to work.
Shop Test
Non-workng Gates to Infinity leftover sub-menu.
Selecting "Inventory/Bank", "Kecleon Shop", "Friend Gate", "Salvage Diver", "Digger's Den", "V-Wavecast", "Select hero character", "Select partner character", "Enter team name" crashes the game.
Selecting "Battle Items Shop", "Souvenir Shop", "Boutique", "Botique closed", "Box Buster", "Glorius Gold", "Traveling Sales-Mon", "Mystery Post", "Recycle shop", "Raffle shop", "Raffle shop", "Raffle results", "Treasure Shop", "Move Dojo", "Detour Guide", "Scraggy's Savvy Moves" doesn't do anything.
"Turn on all dex flags", "Select dungeon party", "Request Board", "Multiplay request board", "Request Counter", "Enter request dungeon", "Return from request dungeon", "Return from result dungeon", "Digging Raffle" make the menu disappear, and nothing seems to happen.
"Gift Shop", "Paradise Layout Lv1", "Paradise Layout Lv2", "Music Paradise", "V-Wheel" make the background image of the bottom screen blank and then crash the game when exiting the sub-menu.
"Wonder Mail (password)" displays the text "Please enter the password." and immediately goes back to the sub-menu.
"Paradise carpenter" plays a screen transition on the bottom screen, and makes it white, then crashes the game.
"Sample Shops" is similar to the Gates to Infinity equivalent, but crashes the game a little over halfway through the script.
"Beartic Slide" display the amount of currently held Poké on the top left corner of the top screen, then crashes the game.
"Increase Paradise Rank", doesn't seem to do anything, but then crashes the game when trying to exit the sub-menu.
"Enter Dungeon" leads to a dungeon selection menu that asks "Where will you go?" and then displays a rotating "unused" icon in the middle of the screen acts as a cursor for an invisible selection on a blank background. And then it crashes the game.
Shop Debug
Same as the Gates to Infinity equivalent. Unknown purpose.
Sound Test
Inaccessible.
Request Debug
Displays the sub-menu to access the job editor from Gates to Infinity, but trying to open it just closes the menu.
StreetPass Debug
System settings
Passerby Post debug
Menu Script Reload
Displays a notice on the top screen. Unknown purpose.
Game Setting Script Reload
Displays a notice on the top screen. Unknown purpose.
Enter Dungeon
This menu shows a list of all dungeons in the game, including unused ones. At the end of the list there is an option that is supposed to unlock all dungeons that can be unlocked and skip to the next day, but selecting it leads to the Main Menu. Pressing Y lets you change the Mysteriosity level (a Gates to Infinity feature not present in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon) for that dungeon, but it doesn't save when changed. While the list matches the dungeons available in the game, the features themselves are non-working Gates to Infinity leftovers. In Gates to Infinity, dungeons are entered by calling the SYSTEM:EnterDungeon(Dg(1)) (where 1 is the ID of the dungeon to enter), but this was likely changed at some point during the development of Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, making this menu no longer functional. All the dungeons in the list show up as "close!".
DLC List
To Top Menu
Asks for confirmation and then leads back to the Main Menu.
