The Poison Herb (Japanese: 毒草) is a Herb introduced to the Super Famicom release of Shiren 1.
Eating a Poison Herb will Poison Template:ShirenPC, causing 5 damage, reducing his current Strength by 1, and inflicting the Slow status on him for 10 normal turns (5 turns that Shiren can act).
Despite their negative effects, Poison Herbs will also restore 5 current Fullness when eaten.
Throwing a Poison Herb which successfully hits an entity will reduce their strength by 1, and slow them for 10 turns.
Tips for use
- If the Herb that a Ghost Radish throws is Unidentified, It is a Poison Herb. Likewise, if the second type of herb thrown by a Daze Radish, Sleep Radish or Fear Radish misses, these are also Poison Herbs. Naming them is advised, so they aren't accidentally eaten during the adventure.
- These items are one of a number of items that make ID'ing unidentified items in the Final Puzzle and Ceremonial Cave more dangerous.
- These herbs can be thrown at a monster, which will slow them down if it successfully hits and decrease their strength slightly, increasing Shiren's chances of survival.
- By equipping an Antidote Armband, Shiren will be immune to Poisoning and can consume Poison Herbs safely to replenish 5 current Fullness each.
