Ultimate Dungeons are the definitive challenge dungeons in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. They are often 99 floors long and involve restrictions upon entering the dungeon, such as the level resetting to 1 or 5, only the leader being allowed, or being unable to bring in items or Poké. Some games may have more than one ultimate dungeon, for reasons such as additional content getting added through re-releases or DLC.

Adjacent Dungeons

These dungeons aren't Ultimate Dungeons, in the same way outlined previously. However, they do share some of the primary characteristics of final dungeons.

Notes

  1. Sacred Ruins isn't traditionally 99 floors long, although there is unused data indicating it was originally supposed to be 99 floors long, but was cut to be as long as Temple Remains (which has 39 floors) for unknown reasons.
  2. Joyous Tower allows item carry-in and multiple Pokémon but keeps the level reset aspect.
  3. Wish Cave allows item carry-in and multiple Pokémon but keeps the level reset aspect.
  4. Slumbering Cave allows item carry-in and multiple Pokémon but keeps the level reset aspect.
