Attributes (Japanese: 属性) in Etrian Mystery Dungeon are a properties of most attack in the game. This applies to both monster and player attacks. Some monsters have resistances or weaknesses against one or several attribute. To obtain some drops, you need to kill monsters with a specific attribute. Certain attacks can have more than one attribute. The player can resist with some equipment.
Elemental types
Fire 

Usually flame and high temperature attacks.
Ice 

Usually attacks dealing with freezing temperatures.
Volt 

Usually attacks dealing with electricity.
Untyped
- Players' skills inflicting untyped damage are Hexer's Revenge, Pain Storm and Power Word, Runemaster's Blast Skill Origin Rune and Sovereign's Ad Nihilo.
- Monsters' skills inflicting untyped damage are Berserker King's Binding Voice, Bloodbear's Binding Voice, Demented King's Feast of Light, Pooka's Go Away!, Sky Kaiser's Deafening Roar, Toxic Lizard's Poison Shot, Toxic Lizard's Poison Burst and Vengeful Minion's Know My Power.
- Items inflicting untyped damage are Demon Breath and Whirl Scroll.
- Ailments inflicting untyped damage are Poison and Pain Trade.
Physical types
Bash 

Players can inflict Bash damage with Maces and Staves. Monsters biting, kicking, punching or using their tails to attack often inflict Bash Damage.
Cut 

Players can inflict Cut damage with Swords and Katanas. Monsters using claws or thorns to attack often inflict Cut Damage.
Stab 

Players can inflict Stab damage with Rapiers and Guns. Monsters using fangs, tusks or needles to attack often inflict Stab Damage.
