Special Enemies in Nintendo DS Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer are entities that engage in combat with the player, but are encountered in special situations, other than regular Monsters. Special Enemies cannot be turned into Monster Meat and a Bufu's Staff has no effect on them.

Shop-Based Enemies

Sheriffs and Guard Dogs:
When leaving the boundaries of a Shop with unpaid items, and being labelled as a thief, Sheriffs and Guard Dogs will spawn in large numbers on the floor or in the town. These strong monsters will follow and attack Shiren and cannot be talked to.

  • Sheriffs have very high attack.
  • Guard dogs move at Double Speed.
