The Taur monster family (Japanese: タウロス系, Taurosu Kei) consists of:

1. Taur (Japanese: タウロス, Taurosu)
2. Minotaur (Japanese: ミノタウロス, Minotaurosu)
3. Megataur (Japanese: メガタウロス, Megataurosu)
4. Gigataur (Japanese: ギガタウロス, Gigataurosu)

Special Drops

Taur Family Monsters have a chance to drop a Minotaur's Axe upon defeat. Attacks with a Minotaur's Axe equipped or the corresponding File:Shiren 1 DS - Weapon Seal Critical.png Seal will deal Critical Hits approximately 24% ^{[Data needed]} of the time attack hit. This item will not be dropped if the monster has previously had Gitan or an Item stolen from them by a Thief-Type monster^{[Citation needed]}.

Monster Ability

Wielding their signature axe, Taur Family Monsters have approximately a 24% ^{[Data needed]} chance to deal a Critical Hit when attacks hit, where double the normal damage is dealt.

Effect when Sealed

Taur Family Monsters can no longer deal Critical Hits when Sealed.

Meat Strategy

Being a Taur provides no combat advantage to Shiren, but Taur Family Monsters can be farmed to produce Minotaur's Axes.

Monster Meat Description

1. Taur meat: Eat this to change into a Taur. You will sometimes score a critical hit when attacking.
2. Minotaur meat: Eat this to change into a Minotaur. You will sometimes score a critical hit when attacking.
3. Megataur meat: Eat this to change into a Megataur. You will sometimes score a critical hit when attacking.
4. Gigataur meat: Eat this to change into a Gigataur. You will sometimes score a critical hit when attacking.
