Synopsis

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity DEMO VERSION (Japanese: ポケモン不思議のダンジョン ~マグナゲートと∞迷宮~ 体験版), also referred to as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity (Demo) for the North American version and (Demo) Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity for the European version, is a demo for Nintendo 3DS Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity released on the eShop prior to the release of the game. There are three versions of the demo, one for each region. The demo only had 10 uses.

Gameplay

When the demo is launched for the first time, it says "Preparing game file. Please wait a moment..." with a blue Magnagate loading icon, followed by "The game file is ready. Press A.", which then leads straight to the title screen.

Unlike the full game, the demo doesn't show the opening, and instead jumps directly to the title screen, which features a "DEMO VERSION" icon added to the logo. The title screen always shows Quagsire walking around the Pokémon Paradise wastelands in a loop, unlike the full game, where there are multiple scenes that end after a while to show the opening again. It is impossible to Quick Save. The Main Menu only features the button to start/continue the story and, once unlocked, Discover a Magnagate! mode, which can be played indefinitely, although its dungeons appear to be more limited compared to the full version, and the found dungeons don't get saved to the list. The game otherwise plays normally up to when the player needs to go to Hazy Pass, where it becomes impossible to access dungeons from the Crossroads, as going to the entrance shows a system message that saves the game and leads back to the Main Menu.

If the console detects a save file from the demo when starting the full game, the demo save file can be carried over and the player can continue from where the demo left off.
