Defense(Japanese: ぼうぎょ) is a stat in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. It affects how much damage is taken when a Pokémon is attacked by Moves in the physical category.
Resets the Pokémon's Attack, Special Attack, Defense, Special Defense, accuracy, and evasiveness.
Can be positive or negative depending on the circumstances.
Pokémon Formes That Affect Defense
Some Pokémon formes have passive stat stage modifiers. These modifiers cannot be altered by any effects that interact with visible stat changes, such as Haze, Psych Up, Heart Swap, Foresight, Power Trick, or Topsy-Turvy. They're also unaffected by abilities, such as Simple and Contrary. Transform also cannot copy these stat changes. Punishment can't detect passive stat changes during damage calculation. These passive stat changes can only be modified by specific effects that indirectly affect stat stages, such as Gravity, Sandstorm, various emeras, and abilities, such as Snow Cloak and Tangled Feet. They can also be swapped with the move Wonder Room. However, they can still be ignored just like any other visible stat change with abilities, such as Unaware, Keen Eye, No Guard, and with moves such as Chip Away and Sacred Sword.
