The Top Menu (Japanese: トップメニュ) is the first menu the player sees every time Super Famicom Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer is launched. The top menu opens right after the title screen.

Display

On the screen, many features are shown when loading the main menu.

First time

First save

Adventure: Lets the player select a save file and start playing.

New Journal: Creates a new save file.

Copy Journal:

Ranking:

Recall: Shows the player's actions in the floor where the game was most recently saved in.

Icons

Top Menu icons are small pictures that appear when certain goals are met to track the player's progress. They are displayed in the continue confirmation screen showing the current progress.

Background art

The screen always shows the same picture of Table Mountain.

Background music

This menu plays the track known as "Top Menu" in the soundtrack. It is composed by Koichi Sugiyama. The music uses the leitmotiv from another music heard in the game, "Mountaintop Town".
