Ground debug is an unused menu in Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon. It is the debug menu used in "ground" areas (meaning outside of dungeons) and it leads to several smaller sub-menus. It is very similar to the Ground debug menu in Gates to Infinity, with many non-working leftover features. It can be accessed in the released game through hacking.

Note: Currently only tested in the European version of the game.

Function: OpenGroundDebugMenu()

Debug camera

Inaccessible in the released game. Selecting it does nothing.

Pokémon Storage

This menu has three features: adding a Pokémon to the team (chosen from a list), see the list of all Pokémon in the team, and fill the team with the maximum amount of Pokémon that can join it.

Items and Money

"Bag" leads to submenus where categories of items can be chosen to fill the bell with, along with an option to empty the bag.

"Bag 2" doesn't do anything but close the sub-menu.

"Inventory" includes "Inventory max", which fills the Deposit Box with 999 of most items, an option to remove everything from the Deposit Box, and one that is intended to access the Deposit Box, but crashes the game instead.

Change Hero/Partner

Lets you set the player character and parter to any of the starters avalable in the selection menu at the start of the game, all of their evolutions, plus Wailord, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Reshiram, Onix or Steelix. When done, a notice appears on the top screen instructing to reenter the area to see the changes.

Change Party

A simple party editing menu. Pokémon can be removed from the party, be made the leader, and recruited Pokémon can be added to the party. "Add Basic Set" adds a Golurk, a Frogadier and a Sigilyph.

Change Parameters

This menu is intended to change the current stats of each move in the game, but the changes aren't saved.

Position Capture

Unknown purpose. Selecting "Capture" displays a top screen notice that says "Capture failed...".

For Scriptwriters

The For Scriptwriters debug menu.
The For Scriptwriters debug menu.

The menu itself uses Japanese characters, however an English textbox explains what each option does after it's selected.

First option is supposed to reset all story events, but it doesn't seem to work.

Second option is supposed to skip to the next day, but it doesn't seem to work.

Third option is "Reset date counter". Unknown.

Fourth option says "So many days have passed that we just can't be sure any" (the text cuts off and goes off screen). Unknown.

Fifth and sixth are "Reset message counter" and "Message counter has been set to its final stage". Unknown.

Seventh and eigth are "Reset midway point pro tip flags" and "Skip midway point pro tip flags". Unknown.

Ninth option stops the currently playing music.

Tenth option exits this sub-menu.

Other

Paradise Debug

Gates to Infinity leftover, doesn't appear to work.

Shop Test

Selecting "Inventory/Bank", "Kecleon Shop", " crashes the game. Selecting "Battle Items Shop", "Souvenir Shop", "Boutique", "Botique closed", "Box Buster", "Glorius Gold", "Traveling Sales-Mon", "Mystery Post", doesn't do anything. "Gift Shop" makes the background image of the bottomscreen menu blank and then crashes the game when exiting. "Turn on all dex flags", "Select dungeon party", "Request Board", "Multiplay request board" make the menu disappear, and nothing seems to happen.

"Enter Dungeon" leads to a dungeon selection menu that asks "Where will you go?" and then displays a rotating "unused" icon in the middle of the screen acts as a cursor for an invisible selection on a blank background. Trying to use the menu crashes the game when exiting it.
