After rescuing Caterpie in Tiny Woods, the Rescue Team hero and partner receive a letter from Magnemite asking for help. A strange electromagnetic wave flowed through the dungeon and stuck two Magnemite together, which isn't enough to form a Magneton. Two Magnemite at the entrance to Thunderwave Cave explain the situation to the hero and partner, who venture inside the cave to rescue the other two Magnemite.
