Fusion (Japanese: 合成) is an item mechanic in Wii Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 3 - The Sleeping Princess and the Karakuri Mansion. Fusion allows players to use a Melding Jar to combine two or more items of the same type together.

Fusion combines Staff charges of the same type into a single item, freeing up inventory space. Armbands, Shields, or Weapon Runes can be combined together. Fusion is required for many Item Transformations(NT) - This name was created by editors to describe something lacking a name..

Placing an item in an unpaid melding jar in a Dungeon Shop will not combine them, but the jar will still lose a slot.

A more advanced form of Fusion called Cross-Mixing utilizes the Mixer Family and allows players to create Runes from Scrolls, and Herbs.
