This Mamel Family page is about the Super Famicom release. For the Nintendo DS release, see Shiren 1 DS:Mamel Family.
For the lore page, see Shiren:Mamel Family.

The Mamel monster family (Japanese: マムル系, Mamuru Kei) consists of:

  1. Mamel (Japanese: マムル, Mamuru)
  2. Pit Mamel (Japanese: あなぐらマムル, Anagura Mamuru)
  3. Cave Mamel (Japanese: 洞窟マムル, Dōkutsu Mamuru)

The Mamel, likely the first monster players run into on their Shiren adventures. These monsters have a smooth spherical body, and a white widening tail, belly and cat-like ears. With a slightly agape mouth showing a pink or blue tongue and wide eyes. The color of the monster's back depends on the level, with sky blue for the Mamel, olive green for the Pit Mamel and red for the Cave Mamel.

Combat Strategy

A generally weak monster family with no special abilities to be cautious of. Mamels and Pit Mamel's can easily be defeated even without any equipment. Cave Mamels can pose more of a threat, with a higher attack (~255 damage with no Shield equipped) and surprisingly high defense, but this is to be expected of a level 3 monster. Nonetheless, it is best to have a strong shield to endure any unexpectedly high attacks.

Meat Strategy

With no special abilities, there is no specific benefit to consuming Mamel Family Monster Meat. Instead, low-level monster meat can be thrown to transform other monsters into a more easily defeated form, However, there is a chance that the Meat will miss, so it is best to do this at a distance and/or not to rely on it.
