This Shiren 1 SFC:Pickaxe page is about the Super Famicom release. For the Nintendo DS release, see Shiren 1 DS: Pickaxe.
For the lore page, see Shiren:Pickaxe.
Pickaxe (Japanese: つるほし) is a weapon in Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer. When equipped, the player can destroy walls by attacking.
There are two types of Pickaxe. The regular type, found normally, breaks when used many times. After clearing Table Mountain once, the player can bring a regular Pickaxe to a Blacksmith to have it upgraded to an unbreakable Pickaxe, which can be picked up by talking to the Blacksmith on the next Adventure. The two types can be difficult to tell apart because they use the same name and description. Likewise, when fusing the Pickaxe with another Weapon, the short Rune description that is added is also identical, despite keeping the functionality of the type of Pickaxe that was used.
