The Top Menu (Japanese: トップメニュ, Top Menu) is the first menu the player sees every time Game Boy Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer GB - Monster of Moonlight Village is launched. The main menu opens right after the Title Screen.

Display

  • Go on an Adventure (Japanese: ぼうけんいでる): Continue the game from where it was left off. Also gives the option to end the Adventure and return to Moonlight Village.
  • Create Diary (Japanese: にっきをつくる): Create a new save file.
  • Copy Diary (Japanese: にっきをうつす): Copy a save file to a different slot.
  • Delete Diary (Japanese: にっきをけす): Delete a save file.
  • Change Name (Japanese: なまえをかえる): Change the player's name on a save file.
  • Leaderboard/Password (Japanese: ばんづけ/パスワード): Opens sub-menu.
    • Leaderboard(UT) - This is an unofficial translation. (Japanese: ばんづけ): Displays records in dungeons across save files.
    • Password(UT) - This is an unofficial translation. (Japanese: パスワード): Opens another sub-menu to select a Diary, and shows a list of achievements reached for that Diary. Known as the Adventure Log or Adventure Footprint in later games.
  • Recollection(UT) - This is an unofficial translation. (Japanese: かいそう): See a replay of the player's actions on the most recent floor.
  • Fay's Puzzles (Japanese: フェイのもんだい): Menu selection for Fay's Puzzles. Puzzles that have been cleared at least once are marked as completed.

Icons

Top Menu icons are small pictures that appear on the continue screen after certain objectives are achieved in the game.
