Hypnosis (Japanese: 催眠) is an ailment in  Etrian Mystery Dungeon.

Effects

The affected character is essentially controlled by the enemy and will act randomly. He can unequipped equipment, throw an item, use random items or attack randomly.

How is it inflicted

Hypnosis can be inflicted by Maya Owl and Ghost Owl's skill Mesmerize.

Tips

Hypnosis is a dangerous ailment, because the affected character cannot be controlled and even act against the player. It can make lose equipment and items, because the character can throw any items and in dungeon without walls like Torrential Ravine the item can fall and be lost forever. Since the affected character can also unequip its equipement, you can even lose your best weapon or armor.
