Nina (Japanese: ネネ) is a side character appearing in the Dragon Quest Mystery Dungeon series. Her first appearance in a Mystery Dungeon title was in Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon, which was her second Dragon Quest appearance. Her first Dragon Quest appearance was in Dragon Quest Ⅳ: Chapters of the Chosen.
Biography
Physical Appearance
Nina appears as a young brunette with a long ponytail. In both the mainline and Torneko series, she is considered to be very beautiful, leading to disgruntlement among some of the villagers of Lakanaba of how a bog-trotter like Torneko managed to woo her.[1]
Personality
History
Early life
Though she was introduced in Dragon Quest Ⅳ, little is known about her life and personality in the game's entire story. It would be in Torneko's own spin-off games that we would discover what happened to her and her family after the event of the aforementioned game.
Nina met Torneko for the first time in Surene, now Zalenagrad and one of many locations in Dragon Quest Ⅳ, after a disagreement with her ex-husband, going as far as to throw his weapon and strangle Torneko after he explained it was not possible to return the weapon. This eventful first meeting led to Torneko and Nina falling in love later on and got married before the events of Dragon Quest Ⅳ.[2]
