Rooms (Japanese: ???) are part of what makes up a dungeon floor in Super Famicom Mystery Dungeon 2: Shiren the Wanderer. Rooms are groups of tiles surrounded by walls. Rooms are usually connected to one another by corridors. A room may contain a Shop or Monster House. In a room, items and traps may be present when the floor is just reached by the players.

Room Types

Single Giant Room

Rarely a floor might consist of only a single giant room that takes up all the available space.

Pillar Rooms

Rooms filled with one-tile walls in a checkerboard pattern.

There is a Development Oversight in these rooms that makes enemies that throw items do so indefinitely if the player positions the character and the monster in a certain way. The enemy will keep trying to hit the player with the item, leaving the item on the ground and letting players pick up as many as they want.

Easily Breakable Pillar Rooms

In some pillar rooms, the pillar walls can be broken even without a Pickaxe. In these rooms, the pillar walls may contain items or monsters.

Checkerboard Lakes Rooms

Rooms filled with small one-tile water lakes in a checkerboard pattern.

Vaults

4x4 rooms filled with fifteen 500 Gitan bags and a trap to warp away. They aren't connected by walls, so the player needs to reach it through other methods, such as digging there with a Pickaxe or Soldier Ant meat, going through walls after eating meat, turn the floor into a single giant room, or warping there.

Labyrinth Rooms

A room filled with walls that form a small labyrinth.
