Banana Prince (Japanese: バナナ王子) is a party member that accompanies you in the Banana Kingdom, and can only be recruited elsewhere after clearing 30 F of that dungeon. Like most party members, he can gain experience and level up to Level 10, but he has various unique mechanics.

Banana Prince does not have HP; instead he has a unique health system. Banana Prince starts off yellow, and after taking 4 hits, he turns brown. After taking another 4 hits, he turns black. After another 4 hits, he is defeated. The normal damage value does not matter; thrown weeds and a strong enemy's attack are all the same to the Prince. Effectively, he has 12 HP, and everything deals 1 point of damage. However, like Shiren under the Banana status effect, he will instantly die if he takes explosion/fire damage or gets wet.

Throwing a banana at Banana Prince restores him to maximum quality. The type of banana does not matter, even a rotten banana or banana peel will fully heal the Prince. This means you usually want to use banana peels. Shiren will never miss when throwing a banana at the Prince, even when equipping an Inacc. Bracelet. Banana Prince will also fully recover when a Banana Changer or Banana Trap tries to transform him into a banana.

Similar to Nfu from Magic Castle of the Desert, and Okon from Shiren 5, Banana Prince can learn powers from enemies; these are called Bana-Powers (Japanese: バナパワー). Banana Prince has two separate sets of Bana-Powers, one for use during the daytime, and one for use at night.
Similar to Nfu the Demon Puppy from Magic Castle of the Desert, and Okon from , Banana Prince can learn powers from enemies; these are called Bana-Powers バナパワー. Banana Prince has two separate sets of Bana-Powers, one for use during the Day and Night, and one for use at night.

On any turn when the Banana Prince is not moving, and when there is a target in range for the given Bana-Power, there is a 20-30% chance that the Prince will decide to use Bana-Powers. If Shiren is in the same room as the Prince, he will not use Bana-Powers unless Shiren is adjacent. If the Prince can use multiple Bana-Powers, he will use them in order consecutively on the same turn.

When an enemy uses its ability on the Prince, or Shiren throws certain items at him, and if this does not kill the Prince, he will try to learn a Bana-Power in both sets. If a set already has 4 Bana-Powers, then the one at the top of the list will be replaced. If you use Shiren's turn to talk to the Banana Prince, you can use the menu to change the order of his Bana-Powers, make him forget a Bana-Power, or lock a Bana-Power so that it won't be overwritten in that set. This allows you to build Banana Prince's day and night sets to your desired configuration.

Banana Prince's sprite.
Information
Location

Banana Prince (Japanese: バナナ王子) is a party member that accompanies you in the Banana Kingdom, and can only be recruited elsewhere after clearing 30 F of that dungeon. Like most party members, he can gain experience and level up to Level 10, but he has various unique mechanics.

Unlock Requirements

Leveling Banana Prince Up

Banana Prince as a Party Member

Bana-Powers

Similar to Nfu the Demon Puppy from Magic Castle of the Desert, and Okon from Shiren the Wanderer 5: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate, Banana Prince can learn powers from enemies; these are called Bana-Powers (Japanese: バナパワー). Banana Prince has two separate sets of Bana-Powers, one for use during the daytime, and one for use at night.
