The {{Gates|Request Counter}} and the Request Board had different designs in pre-release screenshots. The Request Board had a darker shade of brown and the notes were positioned differently. The cloth on the counter used to be purple instead of blue, the arrow behind {{GatesC|Azumarill}} wasn't angled and it didn't have the three blue stripes that it has in the final build of the game.

Bottom screen artwork in the final build of the game, still using the prototype design.

The Request Counter and the Request Board had different designs in pre-release screenshots. The Request Board had a darker shade of brown and the notes were positioned differently. The cloth on the counter used to be purple instead of blue, the arrow behind Azumarill wasn't angled and it didn't have the three blue stripes that it has in the final build of the game.

The boxes and jars around Paradise Center, the welcome sign and the arch at the entrance also got a similar redesign. The bottom screen artwork displayed while talking to Azumarill still matches the old designs of the arrow and the cloth even in the final build of the game. Some of the old designs were also used for the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity (Anime) short.
