Any ideas on how the highscores work? Looking at this months wifi scores this is what i guess so far:

Score is based on a constant minus/plus how you did;
For example winning table mountain gives a base of 1.500.000
Possible minuses could be turncount, as in -1 point for every turn. Possible plusses for every exp/gold/kill.
Less base score if you start using the cart. Since it is 30 levels I guess 1.5million/30 = 50k per level cleared. Half score if you get rescued on the way.

Well this is an old discussion
Well I'm bringing it back :)
No I don't agree that it is 1.5million
I've gotten way less score than that and I cleared table mountain
and by dying at floor2 if your theory is correct
I should've had 100k score which is bigger than #1 without any other scores
So no...

Yay looks like you've been treasurehunting for old threads :)
I have a txt file somewhere where I completely decoded the the scoring system. But since noone seemed to care at that time, the information stayed there. If anyone's interested I'll dig for it later

I can't look for it right now but from what I remember it was:
some base score per level cleared
minus time in seconds
plus sale value of carried items
plus a constant for each monster slain and something else.

If your score is way off you might have been rescued (score/2). Of course score might be different on the SNES version too. Or, since this was posted before my actual deeper research the base values might be wrong

Well I'm sure it will be helpful
if you must, do some more research before posting it on the website so that it is clearly visible

I think what you *meant* to say was: "Thanks for doing all of this useful investigation. I really appreciate it."

Folks aren't paid for making contributions to this site, so some manners would be nice. :)

Sorry I have been to too many *rude* sites and I somewhat grew up with them
But seriously, they were rude
I'm not even being sarcastic
