The Sweet Nut monster family consists of:

1. Sweet Nut {{JA|あまぐりん)
2. Acrid Nut {{JA|しぶぐりん)
3. Spicy Nut {{JA|からぐりん)
4. Bitter Nut {{JA|にがぐりん)

Strategy

Every time you throw an item at them, either their experience point value will be doubled (2/3 chance), up to a multiple of 1024x, or they will explode (1/3 chance), destroying all monsters in a 3x3 area. If you are caught in the explosion, your HP is reduced to 1, and you die if your HP is already at 1.

The explosion effect can be used to clear enemies around them, but it is not very reliable. This is best used when other monsters are following behind them, so you get a few more chances. Rocks and arrows are common items to feed them.

If a Sweet Nut family monster levels up, its multiplier resets. Therefore if you want to level it up for a higher base exp, you will need to do it before throwing items at it.
