  • Menu-based shop
    • This shop draws from a different set of possible contents than the Nekomaneki Village shop
    • E.g. it often sells torches and peaches, which can help with night mode
    • E.g. it often sells Synthesis Pots and IIRC it can sell Healing Pots too
  • Dungeon-based storage area. Size: 3x5 wide rectangle +1 tile in the middle bottom entrance for 16 tiles in all.
  • Hermit that introduces you to night and lets you access the Night Training Facility, and also unlocks the ability to get to the Night Training Facility from Inori Village
  • Hermit that will train you on powerful night abilities when you complete certain quests for him (e.g. kill a certain number of night monsters)
  • Hermit blacksmith
    • Must be unlocked by giving him a juicy peach
      • Note: when you change floors, any peaches in your main inventory may ripen to the next form (hard peach -> peach -> juicy peach -> rotten peach)
      • So, if you have a hard peach or peach, leave it in your main inventory until it becomes a juicy peach, then put it in a Preservation Pot
    • Once unlocked, you can pay him 1000 gitan to upgrade one piece of equipment once per run
    • Once unlocked, you can pay him 3000 gitan to remove one seal from one piece of equipment once per run
      • This is the only controlled way to remove runes in the game! You can do it in an uncontrolled way via high-level Muddy monsters, but that would be really hard to use well.
    • After beating Tower of Fortune and returning, there's a new exit in the blacksmith's shop to the Primordial Chasm bonus dungeon
  • Hermit sentry aka tagging station aka lost and found
    • You can pay to attach a tag to swords and shields, and if you fail in a run, there's a chance you will find your tagged items here.
    • This is a big change from Shiren 1 and a huge opportunity to safeguard your equipment—take advantage of it!
    • Tags may be removed if returned here, so make sure they are re-tagged!
    • Note that most if not all shopkeepers, both in dungeons and outside of dungeons, can also tag your equipment if you pay them either 2000 or 3000 gitans per tag
    • There's also a Tag Scroll and a wandering NPC who can tag your items in dungeons
  • Inn
    • Pay 500 gitan to rest + recover full HP + full stomach + maybe heal strength and other status ailments
  • There's also a side quest that starts in the temporal tower dungeons (I think) to escort a lost hermit home / to this location, but I don't remember what that unlocks
  • Note: every dungeon location after this point experiences day/night cycles, so make sure you're ready
    • Night plays very differently than day, so if you're not familiar with it, make sure to do the Night Training Facility
    • Unlock more night abilities across multiple runs via the ability master here
    • Make sure your primary sword and shield are tagged
    • It doesn't hurt to have a torch and a peach before you leave, but it's not critical, and you'll find more of these on your travels anyway
