Shiren 1 DS:Critical Armband
Template:Infobox Armbands (Shiren 1) The Critical Armband (Japanese: 会心の腕輪) is an armband introduced in the Super Famicom release of Shiren 1. Wearing a Critical Armband gives Shiren a chance to land critical strikes when he attacks, but increases the rate at which he gets hungry. This armband can greatly assist you if you find yourself to be engaging a lot of monsters in combat, especially if you lack other resources. It would be wise to try and manage this armbands use by constantly removing it when you are not fighting and then re-equipping it when you are about to fight to conserve your hunger. This is more practical to do safely in rooms rather than hallways. If you are currently using a shield with the (H) seal melded on, then the critical armband is a great choice to leave equipped at all times as the seal will cancel out the hunger increasing property of the armband, leaving Shiren with normal hunger reduction. However, utilizing this armband with a shield that has the (HVY) seal melded on, then the hunger effect will be doubled, and you will be losing 4x hunger per turn.
It is currently unknown to us whether or not this armbands effect stacks with the effects of the Minotaur Axe or Kigny Axe. Further testing is needed into the interaction of these items so this page can be updated with correct information.
Tips for use
All together, Critical Armbands can do the following:
- Grant the chance to land Critical Strikes.
- Double hunger loss.
The effect of an Critical Armband is included in several "rescue reward" armbands: the Ace's Armband, and the Berserk Armband.
