Cross-Mixing

Cross-Mixing (Japanese: 異種合成) is a mechanic introduced in Template:GameTitle. While it appeared in the English localizations ofTemplate:GameTitle, and Shiren 5 on the Vita/Switch/Steam/Smartphones, it's not known to have an official name in those releases.

Synthesis

Synthesis (Japanese: 合成) is a mechanic introduced in Template:GameTitle. While fn of the past commonly referred to it as "Melding", from the item Melding Jar, we've opted to use Synthesis as we felt it better describes the process. As well as the Melding Jar or Synthesis Pot not being the only way to synthesize be items.

The Template:GameTitle official localization may also be considered a source, based on the localized name Synthesis Jar for the previously named Melding Jar Nintendo DS / Melding Jar Wii. However, o our knowledge, it was never referred to as Synthesis, or if it was, we don't know where. So again, that would be naming the element based on the item name.
