Recruitment is a method of obtaining Pokémon in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX. Nintendo Switch

Recruiting of Pokémon

The Pokémon to be recruited has to be defeated by the leader, within a 2 tiles range.

Recruitment Rate

Base Recruiting Rate

The base recruiting rate is the chance of recruiting a Pokémon before adding bonuses from the Level of the team leader and items.

Base Recruiting Rates could be negative numbers, i.e., lower than zero. In that case, when bonuses raise the rate to positive numbers, the Pokémon can be recruited.

Bonus Recruiting Rate

Bonus recruitment rates increase the recruitment rate. The bonus can't exceed +55%.

Friend Bow

If the leader is holding the Friend Bow when defeating a Pokémon, the recruitment rate increases by 12.8%. It is required to recruit Shiny Pokémon.

Inviting Orb

Using the Inviting Orb increases the recruitment rate by 25%.

Levels

Level of Leader Bonus
Between 1 and 40 +3%
Between 41 and 50 +4%
Between 51 and 100 +5%

False Swipe

If the leader defeats a Pokémon by using the move False Swipe, the recruitment rate is increased by 17.5%.

Friendly Rare Quality

The Friendly Rare Quality increases recruitment rate by 15%.

Squad Up Rare Quality

The recruitment rate increase provided by the Squad Up Rare Quality changes depending on how many Pokémon are currently in the party.

Shiny Pokémon

Strong Foes can only be recruited when they are shiny Pokémon. This is also the only way shiny Pokémon other than Shiny Celebi appear in the game. To recruit these shiny Pokémon, the leader must hold the Friend Bow.
