Template:Infobox Bosses (Shiren 3)

The Centipede (Japanese: 大ムカデ) is the second boss fight in Template:Shiren3. Centipede is the first of the four guardians of Hourai Mountain. Centipede's personality suggests he is one of the younger members of the guardians as he speaks with confidence and questions whether his fellow guardian Template:Shiren3 can still handle the strain of battle, calling him old one. Centipede proceeds to kidnap Koppa and hold him hostage to make sure Template:Shiren3 and company do not flee from the guardians challenge to do combat. Centipede is roughly 300 years old as he claims upon his defeat to Shiren. Centipede carries 6 Sabre's on him to do combat and like most bosses takes up a 3x3 square space in game.

Strategy

Centipede has a few tricks up his sleeve unlike the first boss, the Template:Shiren3, making him more complex. Centipede is capable of blocking your projectiles which includes Template:Shiren3. Occasionally Centipede will opt to spew poison at one of your characters which will reduce their strength. This can be countered by having an Template:Shiren3 on to resist the poison, but is not really a big concern of yours since you will recover lost strength after the fight. The main gimmick that Centipede can employ is burrowing underground for a few turns. He is completely immune to everything you do during this time, but it is a good rest period if you need it for some reason. Just make sure you are not within his 9 square hit box when he pops up or you will suffer damage. Just avoid his digging attack and keep healing when necessary, using only melee attacks to finish centipede off with little trouble.

Notes

[Need confirmation on what exactly happens when centipede hits you by popping up as I have never let him do that to me.] - Harpu
