Barren Valley (Japanese: こかつのたに) is the first dungeon in the Special Episode In the Future of Darkness. It has 11 floors in total, including Deep Barren Valley (Japanese: こかつのたに おくち) as the second part of the dungeon and Barren Valley Clearing (Japanese: こかつのたに さいおうぶ) as the final floor.

Plot

Dungeon information

The dungeon begins with five floors with a relay point after 5 F. It is then followed with five floors from Deep Barren Valley before reaching the final goal floor at 6 F entitled Barren Valley Clearing. Each floor in the dungeon has six to ten rooms. Water appears frequently throughout the entire dungeon.

Pokémon

Because it is a special episode, Pokémon encountered in the dungeon are unrecruitable and are in the majority Ghost-type, Dark-type and Flying-type Pokémon.

Once the player goes through Barren Valley Clearing, a cutscene plays before fighting a group of four Sableye. The area is in a 14x16 tiles with no obstacles around.

The frequency and list of items remains the same through out the whole special episode.

Traps

The frequency and list of traps and floor tiles remain the same throughout the whole special episode.
