Shiren 1 DS:Sealed

When under the Sealed status, Template:ShirenPC is also affected by the 'Silent' status.

While sealed, special abilities cannot be used, which means, as Shiren, Staves cannot be used to fire magic bolts. Even if there are [0] charges on a stave, a message will still appear when attempting to swing the staff. Staves can still be thrown to deliver their effect.

Additionally, the 'silent' status means that Shiren cannot:

• Consume any Items, meaning Herbs, Riceballs, or Monster Meat
• Read any Scrolls

• Talk to NPCs or Shopkeepers

Effect on Monsters + Monster-Shiren

Sealed monsters and Shiren transformed as a Monster, cannot use special abilities when sealed and will only melee attack.

Monsters that would normally move at Double Speed, will now move at normal speed, and pressing 'special' will perform a regular attack.

Normally Floating-type Monsters or those that can move through walls, can no longer when sealed.

How to get affected

• Get hit by the magic ability of a Skull Wraith with the sealing effect.
• Get hit by the magic bolt of a Sealing Staff reflected back at Shiren by an Air Devil Family Monster.

How to cure

Due to the effect of the 'silent' status, many types of items cannot be used, including Scroll of Need and Restorative Herb cannot be used, meaning there are very limited options for curing this status. Successfully pressing a Chiropractic Jar will not cure this status.

• Wait for 35 turns for the effect to wear off.
• Transform into a monster, by the magic ability of a Skull Wizard.

• When sealed, some actions will prompt the same messages as when Shiren is silenced, though the 'silent' status does not appear in the top menu.
• Even within a Jar of Hiding, the 'sealed' status appears above the Jar.
