Rusting is a game mechanic in Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon
. Shields can rust, lowering their Shield Strength modifier by 1. Shield can rust down to -30, but Shield Strength can't go lower than 0. Horks and Acid Traps are the only source of rust. Leather Shields and Mirror Shields
are naturally immune to rust and other shields can be Plated to become rustproof.
