'''Metal Babble'''{{NT}} {{JA|はぐれメタル|Hagure Metaru|Stray Metal}} is a {{Torneko1|monster}} in ''{{DragonQuest|Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon}}''. Unlike {{Torneko1|Slime}}s, who are the weakest enemies in the game, Metal Babble's have double the {{Torneko1|speed}} and a ridiculous amount of {{Torneko1|defense}} points to protect them against any attacks, much like {{Shiren|Gitan Mamel}}'s from the ''{{Shiren|Shiren the Wanderer}}'' series. They're also necessary to boost {{Torneko1|Torneko}}'s {{Torneko1|level}}s early in the {{Torneko1|dungeon}}, as they give a lot of {{Torneko1|experience}} points once K.O.'d.

Metabble (Japanese: はぐれメタル, Stray Metal) is a Monster in Super Famicom Torneko's Great Adventure: Mystery Dungeon(UT) - This is an unofficial translation..

Metabbles are a variant of the Slime but made of metal and in a liquid state. They attack by electrifying their body before bashing Torneko.

Monster Ability

Metabbles have several special abilities:

  • They behave identically to monsters afflicted with the Terrified status condition, always fleeing Torneko on sight.
  • Their Defense Power, though very high, is completely ignored when calculating Damage dealt to them. Instead Torneko will always deal 1 damage to them.
  • They will always randomly warp somewhere in the dungeon when hit by Torneko.

Effect when Sealed

When Sealed, Metabbles stop fleeing Torneko and no longer teleport when hit. They keep their double movement speed and attack speed, and still only take 1 damage at a time when attacked.

Combat Strategy

Metabbles give a high amount of experience and always drop a Joy Seed when they are defeated. However, they are hard to land a hit on, as they run away from Torneko with Double Speed, warp away when damaged, and have lots of defense, despite having less HP than a Slime. In addition, they have a low spawn rate. If the player finds one by luck, the best way to get them is by cornering them in a dead end, or in a room and attempting to land a hit when the chance comes, for example with an Arrow. Do it before Torneko is sent to the next floor because of the Earthquake. If Torneko is in possession of a Cloning Staff(UT) - This is an unofficial translation., it can be used to multiply the Metabbles to get a large number of levels.
