Strong Foes

  • Pokémon with higher stats can appears in a random dungeon and are indicated with an icon. If defeated, the player will be rewarded with a great amount of Experience points and a Deluxe Box.
    • Before going to the dungeon, the player can see their weakness by pressing X on the Joy Con.

Pokémon Square

  • Walking through the Sqaure now changes the camera angle, giving more depth around the area.
  • A shortcut from the Team Base to the Pelipper Post Office is created by Diglett early on in the game.
  • The Makuhita Dojo has been revamped. There are two types of gameplay offered from Makuhita:
    • Dojo drills: A challenge mode where only one Pokémon can enter at a time and has a time limit depending on which ticket and how many of them the player gives to Makuhita.
    • Tricks of the trade: Both a tutorial for newcomers and a challenge mode with a bonus if completed.

Gameplay Elements

Recruiting

  • Up to five additional team members can be recruited while exploring a dungeon, for a total of eight teammates.
  • The player can recruit a fainted Pokémon with any kind of Apples.
  • A recruited Pokémon without a rescue team camp gives Poké to the player after completing or leaving a dungeon with an Escape Orb.

Rankings

  • Mission difficulty goes from F to 3★ instead of E to 7★.
    • Points given from the mission variate depending on the dungeon and the kind of mission the player chose.
  • Ranking goes from Rookie Rank to Grand Master Rank instead of going from Normal Rank to Lucario Rank.
    • Ranking up gives to the player advantages to their number of editable teams, job limit, camp capacity and toolbox size as well as useful item rewards.

Miscellaneous

  • The game auto-saves the player's progress anytime while playing in a dungeon.
    • The player can also save their progress on the menu.
  • A brand new gameplay element is added to the game entitled Auto mode.
    • Pressing the L Button will automatically move the player and their team until an enemy is around one square radius of the team or the button is pressed again.
  • Using the A Button now selects the best move against an opponent in a dungeon.
  • IQ ranks and Body sizes were removed from the game.
  • Speed is now based on the Pokémon stats instead of the turn-based gameplay in the original games.
    • Similarly to TM Ability, it can now attack twice in the same turn if his speed stats are above the foe's speed and vice versa.
  • The AI can now help the team by giving an item to the player or the teammates throughout the exploration.

Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer (series)

  • The second option from the revamped Makuhita Dojo, Tricks of the trade, is inspired from Fay's Puzzles.

Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 2: Demon Invasion! Shiren Castle!

  • The capability to have more than two partners from this game were added to the remake.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time & Darkness / Sky

  • Treasure Boxes return. They are opened automatically upon leaving the dungeon.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Adventure Squad Titles

  • Shiny Pokémon were first introduced in this game then added back in the remake.

Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon

  • The player can rescue themselves if they are defeated in a dungeon in addition to rescuing other players.
  • Pokémon can experience Mega Evolution.
  • Moves and abilities after Generation Ⅲ present in this game were brought in the remake.
  • Pokémon with two abilities no longer have both simultaneously.
  • Players can switch leaders by pushing +, it can be done at any time in any dungeon.
  • Gigantic Pokémon (3x3 case long) are back in the remake.

○不具合の内容
・主人公とパートナーの参加が固定されているダンジョン
・3匹目のポケモンをチームメンバーに加えてダンジョンに突入している
・ダンジョンの中で主人公・パートナーがともに倒されている

これらの条件下で、次の操作を行うと、エラーが発生して、それ以降のプレイを続けることが出来なくなります。
・メニューの「メンバーから外す」を選択し、3匹目のポケモンをメンバーから外す
・ダンジョン内で仲間が増えて上限数を超えた際に、3匹目のポケモンをメンバーから外す
また、上記現象が一度発生したセーブデータにおいては、ソフトの再起動を行っても、ゲームの再開のタイミングでエラーが発生し、プレイすることができなくなります。

○回避方法
ダンジョン内で主人公とパートナーが倒れた場合、連れて行ったポケモンをメンバーから外さないようにしてください。
